Christmas Update!

Want to see some more Christmas stuff?

My favorite Japanese vintage reindeer - My other vintage reindeer

A great vintage bell with silver leaves, red bauble corsage and the red mercury glass spiky things
Vintage bottle brush wreath

Adorable vintage salt and pepper shakers, yes the bench came with it and they do come off. And, some of my bottle brush trees (notice the red bases)

My winter girls!

Blurry picture. Newest vintage bottle brush tree, and my largest! Also, two new (vintage) tins I acquired this year.

Adorable vintage cracker jack boxes. I got the bottom one last year and the top one this year.

Animal/woodland type setup. Fox from Target, some TY Christmas toys, a moose my brother gave me when I was a kid, a penguin snowglobe on the left from my best friend, and a cross stitch Santa hanging in the middle, my mother made in the 80s.

Re-did some of the stuff. Hello Kitty and beaded bells now on top of a vintage Hudson's Christmas box, from Detroit. Look at how beautiful!

British Jim Shore Santa

Two more Jim Shore Santas. Tea on the right, and an ornament one on the left (also some vintage corsages, mercury glass in a belljar and S&P shaker)

Most of my vintage Japanese Putz houses. I added a few bottle brush trees and a tiny Mr. and Mrs. Clause ice skating!

Vintage feather tree and three vintage star tree toppers, along with a glass one on the red tree

One close up of the tree, as a teaser.

Of course, there's more to come. More shots of the special ornaments on the tree. Set up of certain lights. And my collection of garlands which I started putting up today! three are up, and at least two to go.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Hope if anyone is out there looking at this, they enjoyed it! I'd love to know the kind of decorations everyone else is doing. I have a wide variety of tastes and I like just about everything, which I'm sure you can tell!

Easter & Egg Dying

I dyed eggs with a friend yesterday.

Where do I start? It seems whenever I have plans, the universe laughs and has things go wrong. I'm usually pretty good at boiling eggs. Not this time! They all boiled yes, but more than half of them cracked, some split completely!

So I was able to try and dye 5 eggs. And, those came out bad! Ugh. My friend was smart and went simple, she dyed them solid colors. Here I was trying to do dots and stripes and they were coming out as if I was 10.

We went to Aldi and I got another dozen eggs and did the simple, yet beautiful solid shades for my eggs.

Here you will see turquoise, aqua, pale yellow, lime green, peach and salmon. We had a grape dye but it came out more brown, so we dumped it later one and made the turquoise color which turned out to be our favorite! We mostly did different shades of that and the more blue aqua one.

No pictures of the bad ones!

Then I came home and waited for my husband to come home from work. I thought he was leaving late but he was being tricky. He showed up early with a surprise Easter basket for me! How adorable (of him and the basket!).

Have a very springy Easter weekend! Full of flowers and light and candy and family!
